Kensington Club, Plainfield, IL

Kensington is a well-established single-family home community in Plainfield, Illinois, built primarily by Pulte Homes in the early 2000s. It’s known for its family-friendly atmosphere and convenient location.

Location & Boundaries

Situated on Route 127, west of Route 59, and north of historic downtown Plainfield. It offers good access to I-55, I-355, and I-80.

Housing

Predominantly single-family homes with floor plans ranging from approximately 2,000 to 3,000 square feet. Many homes feature four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and one half bath, along with attached garages. Some of the original Pulte home models include the Carrington, Richmond, Oxford, Sterling, Winchester, and Devonshire.

Current home prices range from the mid-$400,000s to the low $600,000s, with recent sales in the $430,000 to $650,000 range. Homeowners Association (HOA) fees are approximately $75 per month or $900 annually.

  • Residents have access to Kensington Park, a 6.76-acre park within the subdivision featuring sports fields. Additionally, the Plainfield Park District offers numerous other parks and recreational facilities nearby, including:
    • Settlers’ Park: Located in downtown Plainfield, offering an amphitheater, history walk, war monument, lake, playground, and walking trails.
    • Eaton Preserve Park: Features canoeing, fishing, picnic areas, a playground, restrooms, shelter, trails, and volleyball courts.
    • The Ponds Park: Offers basketball courts, fishing, and a playground.
